I transferred from 2/2nd Inf (Mech) to the 2/28th Inf Black Lions in Sept., '67. I arrived in time for Operation Shenandoah II and the Battle of Ong Thanh ( https://donmooreswartales.com/2010/06/28/james-shelton/), as well as more battles at Loc Ninh in November. I served once again as a platoon medic and then as Senior Aidman. I got off line as Senior Aidman in late December, '67. I decided to volunteer to take the position of platoon medic for Recon Platoon before I went on R&R in early January. I held that position until early March and came home at the end of March, '68.
