After serving for 3 months as a nurse on a Medical ward at MAMC, I started the OR Nursing Course. It was a 16-week course combining didactic and hands-on clinical training in the OR. My Course Director was LTC Nancy Christ, who had served in the OR in Vietnam. She was excellent and taught me a lot, as did the staff in the OR at MAMC.

When I completed the course in Nov. '76, I was sent to San Antonio for my first OR assignment, as an OR staff nurse at Brooke Army Medical Center.
