You took this shot on my birthday. How cool because I drive past this mine a lot. My dad likes to go to the casino at Jackson Rancheria every time we come to California and I always enjoy looking at this mine off HWY 49/88.

The countryside does not appear any worse for wear as a result of this type of mining. We remember Jackson very well and would pass through this area on our way in and out of Yosemite. It is a beautiful area with many quaint little old mining towns like Sutter Creek, Amador City, San Andreas, Chinese Camp, and Angels Camp.

Cool place! I wouldn't mind trying to climb up there for a better view! I know, probably dangerous but it would be nice!
