Vineyards and a night harvest in Sonoma County. I was fortunate enough to be invited to tour the vineyards during the afternoon and to spend the night and photograph the harvest. The grapes are harvested at night because it's easier to stabilize the sugar content than during the warm days.
Trying to photograph the workers at night was difficult because of the poor lighting and the fact that the workers were constantly moving as they worked their way down the rows. The haze around the lights was actually clouds of dust raised by the tractors, trucks and other equipment. You'll notice that the workers wore masks, because of the constant exposure to dust in the air.
