Another view of the main downhaul attached to the halyard ring for demostration purposes only. Note the ring has a nice welded shackle on the lower edge and an off center line attachment point at the top. The only improvement I can suggest for it would be to make the shackle pin captive...it's not too difficult to drop it when trying to raise/lower the main, esp when on the water (don't ask how I know this!).
