3/16" cleco

I tried just using the screws to hold the parts during assembly but quickly discovered that I didn't have enough hands to hold everything so it didn't get scratched. I would up using three clecos, one on each end and one in the center bracket which is not shown in this photo.

The rest of the assembly was pretty straightforward with these notes...

~ As you work your way up adding bars it's best to just loosely screw one end bracket to give you some play because you will have to spread the end bracket to clear the bars. I guess you could just attach one end bracket to all the bars and then attach the other but the grille is pretty cumbersome to handle and I wanted to avoid scratching the paint.

~ Add the two intermediate brackets after you have everything else installed and tightened down.
