ROTTED FLOOR BRACE (Day 11)

The original body mount is pretty much toast. It's collapsed as I suspected causing the floor to frame distance to be way out of spec, resulting in the nose of the cab to be tilted down. This was very evident on the driver's side because the brake and clutch pedals were rubbing against the tops of the holes in the floorboards.

The hood fit was tight at the very top but wide at the sides, also indicating a serious alignment problem somewhere. The hood-to-cowl cannot be adjusted other than changing the height of it's nose. If the nose is up the cowl-to-hood gap will be tight in the middle and loose on the edges. The the nose is too low the cowl-to-hood gap will be loose the middle and tight on the ends. The front clip alignment queues off the hood so if the hood-to-cowl fit is bad everything else is going to be off.
