Back together... What I didn't show is putting the spring from STEP 3 back in, but if you have the patience of a saint, a good pair of needle nose pliers (or spring hooks) and the spring doesn't go flying off into the next time zone it's a piece of cake.
I spent almost 4 hours farting with this thing and I would NEVER do this again nor recommend anyone else try it unless you are either a perfectionist with a machine shop and like to make tooling or you happen to be a masochist.
I'm a pretty patient guy but this thing kicked my butt. It just ain't worth the aggravation.
Classic Parts will rebuild your valve for $50... take my advice and find a good core and have them do it.
