These step drills are ideal for drilling sheetmetal. Each step keeps the drill centered and the small cutting area
does not grab the material. It would be impossible to drill a 3/4 inch hole in this part with a conventional drill bit.
You would have to file it to size.

The C-clamps are there to keep the part from spinning if it gets caught on the bit. I held the part with a
gloved hand and it drilled very smoothly.
