A member of the Cuckoo Family, Cuculidae. Clumsy flapping flight, but nimble on the ground. Restricted to swamps and
marshes with rank vegetation. Skulks in vegetation searching for prey, including amphibians,
fish, small birds, reptiles, rodents, and invertebrates (grasshoppers, crabs, snails).
