2025 SUMMER CHALLENGE - June 15 to September 15 |
Open to all CVCC Members. Please read the guidelines below for information on participating in this years challenge. This challenge focuses on different photography topics and skills to hopefully assist you in shooting outside your comfort zone. You might wish to Google the the topic for a more in depth description OR you might wish to work with a partner to get you inspired on a topic that might be new to you. Enjoy doing as many of the topics as you can; and REMEMBER there is no requirement to complete all topics. THE TOPICS ARE: 01 Abstract / 02 Aperture Stacking / 03 Black / 04 Camera Angles 05 Exposure Stacking / 06 Golden Hour / 07 Human Contact / 08 Lens Flare / 09 Letters / 10 Many Colours / 11- Meandering Lines 12- Moving Liquid (no streams, rivers or oceans) / 13- On The Road 14 Purchased / 15- Pairings / 16- Part of the Whole / 17- Street Art 18- Summer / 19- Time / 20- Upside Down / 21- White / 22-Yin & Yang Check handout for more details and further explanation on all items. a) -Entries must be 'fresh images', taken between June 15-Sept. 15, 2025. You may post at any time and in any order until the Gallery is closed. b) -Post ONLY 1 IMAGE PER SUBJECT. As the Challenge progresses, you can replace a posted image with an updated image. c) -When posting to this gallery, start image title with your full name, then '2025 Summer Challenge', then the subject number & name (ie: 01-Iridescent). d) -Posting size...MAXIMUM size of 800 pixels for either landscape or for vertical. Reduce file size to around 180K or 1.8MB. Oversized files will be compressed. Images not identified or titled will be removed. e) -Editing Criteria: open editing. All in-camera, on-camera and post-processing techniques are permitted, such as removing elements, cloning elements within the images, double-exposure, high dynamic range (HDR), stacking, adjusting lighting, sharpening, etc. The photographer must have taken all components of the final image. f) -Editing Not Permitted: using any components not generated by the photographer such as sky replacement as generated by the editing program; sky replacement is allowed if the portion is from a photograph taken by the photographer; and object removal with the area filled by a generated process ie: the subject taking the place of the object is from a file of generated images. No prizes are awarded for the challenge, it's about sharing with others, and challenging yourself.
