Thanks much CJ :-) I did indeed play around with some B+W on this one but found the color more pleasing to my eye.

Beautiful railing and rocks - great textures and form! Did you try this in B&W Brent? The colors look good but I was just curious. :-) CJ

Thanks for your comments all :-) This really is a nicely crafted rail I used to admire when I passed it going to and from my bus stop near my former home. There is a nicely crafted newer home on the lot too and I like how the owners kept the size modest rather than putting in a huge "macmansion" so many people without constraint or concerns for the environment would have put on such a large lot.
Steel can be quite reflective sometimes, I don't think what you are seeing are blown highlights on the rail Lydia as it looked the same even in frames I deliberately under exposed.

Very nice, harmonious photo, as if its meant to be this way.

That is one GORGEOUS handrail! I really like it next to the rocks.
Some blown spots on the rail, though? ~Lydia

Hi Brent, This is really nice, I like the rail and agree the blurred background is awesome. Nice shot! Yvonne

Wonderful subject and nice use of the sharp macro! - angioman

The most spot on topic so far. The rail curving one way then the stairs curving back. Well done Brent. -COAmature

Wot a great looking bit of iron & I agree I like this one even though the other two make great entries into the toughest gallery of all....... Pending:-)

Thanks Mikey and Tom :-) That was all the feedback I needed to confirm what I was thinking myself and send the other two off to the Rod/Pending gallery. This is one of the few frames I took using the 100mm Macro instead of the 50mm 1.4. The fifty does some good things, but this macro just seems special.

I have to agree with mikey. It's simpler in composition & the in-focus vs. out-of-focus balance is, well balanced.

This one gets my nod, Brent. I'm not exactly sure just why, but its definitely my fave. Cheers, -mikey
