Just noticed that her hand has a motion blur. Good touch there, CJ. It adds life to the already lively photo.

Thanks all! Aster, part of our extended family, is really something - adopted from Ethiopia last year and arriving with no knowledge of English, suffering from rickets and malnourished, but with a personality and sparkle to her to win anyone's heart. In the last year she has grown 7 inches and the effects of starvation have almost disappeared. She rattles on constantly in English now and is a thoroughly delightful child who fits in well with her 2 older "sisters", one from Korea and one US born. She has the most captivating smile and eyes, as many of you have mentioned. Thanks again for the comments! :-) CJ

This is a flattering portrait and I'm liking the crop. This pretty smile seems more gentle to me though. -COAmature

The intensity of the child's inquiring eyes is the power here for me. Great capture and clarity for indoors at such a slow shutter. You have an impressively steady grip. -tv

Thanks Penny, Brent and Rod. I haven't been out much lately to try and get a "power" shot, and Rod, you already did the cord and plug thing which is about all I could think of to do here. Maybe I'll come up with some "powerful" entries before voting time! :-) CJ

The "Power of" titles are working a treat:-) And why not as this is really a nice picy a. The framing is just right too. Nicely done.
