2nd : The Power of Nature
by Lydia too

Lydiaville is expecting some new babies in Spring of next year!
We're very excited.

Although I think this is the perfect display of power, please let me know if this offends and I'll remove it.

Thanks, Penny. There are actually THREE mommys. :) They seem to be doing well. We'll have the vet out soon to check and make sure they're all 'with child'. :) ~Lydia

this is the best, Lydia, in my opinion. Very strong image. Lucky you to have seen the whole process - how's the mommy doing?

Angioman, I put the original back here (decided I liked it better) and put the one that's only cropped and sepia'd in pending. ~Lydia

Lydia, I missed the original - can you put into pending? This is a great capture - the dust really adds to the sense of motion. I also like how the lighting highlights the top of his mane. - angioman

I have replaced it... no Photoshopping...no sharpening... no filters at all. Just Black/White with a sepia tone and crop. Better?

The male's body really does look that smooth and 'velvety'.

This shows why Picasso liked horses. I would love to see the original. Sorry but I'm can't get into the processing. I'm trying to figure out all the specks - probably an artifact of sharpening or whatever filter this is. Frankly, I think it changes what could be spectacular photograph into something less than a photograph.. -tv

This is a great image and I love the Post on it!

Thanks, folks. Yes, I did use a filter... with the subject matter, I felt it needed a bit of softening... more dreamlike than real. ~Lydia

Very powerful image, excellent light- May be its my monitor but did you use some filter in PP? Debi

Very good action picy but why have you smoothed or blurred it? The horses look sort of like velvet

Not all the parts are burned or cloned, but it's not offensive, Lydia.

Jonas, maybe the rats weren't hungry enough! LOL! ;-D CJ

Thanks for taking it in the way it was intended. I do admit to dodging and burning a "part" to make it less noticeable. ~Lydia

Well I see some "parts" but feel not offended... =) This is natural (even though I won't show it to my kids just yet).

And CJ I've heard about experiments with hungry rats that can choose between food or a partner. They didn't pic the food...

As for the image the sunset light is superb and the frozen moment of power is excellent.

The offense parts are thankfully not shown. This is simply too good a shot to not have on display. -COAmature

Next to hunger, this shows the most powerful instinct in nature, and tastefully done too Lydia! :-) CJ
