Jv. Exact data for this is lens at 17mm, iso200, F13, 1/640 To compete against the harsh backlighting I've used a single Vivitar 285 to the right of camera, balanced on my rucksack. The shadow on the ground is the purely from the sun behind and to the right of camera. The extremely high sync speed of the 1d means its quite easy to do this kind of shot with flash in bright conditions.

Rod. Except for adjusting levels and contrast, this is pretty much how it came out of the camera. A small amount of burning on the clouds to add some drama but no cloning - all as nature intended.

Tv. Even more ironic is the fact that for a long time I haven't bothered with picture titles at all, but for this one I did. And I shouldn't have ;)

The clouds seem to have a lot of cloning repetitions in them but I can't imagine wiv your eye that you wouldn't have seen them, so they must be natural. I've seen it the odd picy of mine before & was tempted to clone them out but didn't as it must be a natural thingy.

Seen before. Still interesting, surreal shot because there's no clue why he should be "jumping for joy". Ironic I guess, but better without title. -tv

This looks cool. Is this a small-aperature flash picture? It looks like the flash is at the subject's front-left, but the shadow doesn't agree with that. Did you just put the flash low enough to not cast a shadow or did you PP out the second one. Or am I wrong altogether? - J.V.
