thanks. I purposely removed all the others when I made a definite decision which way to go with this. I'm glad you like it. Penny Street

Wivout a direct comparison to the original this crop looks great & as you say more compliant to the topic but great picys tend to transcend the topic a:-)
I did prefer the original cropped wiv my hand on the monitor but when I saw your crop in pending it took us too close to the girl & I liked the distance & space in the original, minus the corner wall.
Anyhow this looks like a ripper of a picy & dare I say.... very manly:-)

thanks for all the comments -
I cropped it slightly differently, Rod.It may be more suitable for the portrait challenge.

Its a great shot indeed. Love the way she's framed within the cage shaped shadows.

This original looks better, the one in pending has lost the feel of this. You made the right choice. Great picy.

Penny, the red, contrasted against the dark shadows and neutral walls, really gives this shot an artsy look. I like how you captured the candid moment with the hands in the hair! - angioman

Jano - she was truly monitoring this exit - no visitors allowed through.
Thanks for the comment.

I put this in pending:
http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/image/98003154

I had to make a decision - get rid of the wall and have her be just a hair off center - make it square so she would be in the center (and I know NOBODY likes square) or leave it alone (and I decided the shadows might be worth it). The version in pending, to me, is so much more conventional and I thought I'd rather be garish (this time). Please let me know which you really like better.

This has a lot going for it as a picy, lots of elements coming together nicely. The only thing I would have done different is I would have framed a bit more to the right to get rid of the corner of the wall on the left. It just detracts from the surreal look of an excellent picy. Great work Penny & as you have told me you're not on drugs then your brain must be suitably scrambled for the ahrt of photography. Very well done megirl.

Love it Penny - the red really brings this to life. The lines and shadows also play a nice part in this. This may be an exit, but I would imagine no one is getting through? jano
