I did another round of sharpeneing with Picasa before posting. I think that helped- I also think I used the portrait mode so flash would have def been there but I have to check the exif- the brightness of the forehead seems to indicate use of flash.Re the B & W conversion, I used the channel mixer preset in CS3 with the green filter. that seems to smoothen the skin.

That poor man he lets you buy anything you want, take holidays up the Himalayas & you're flashing him when he's having a nap:-) I'll tell you wot Debi the 55-250 lens looks plenty sharp enough here. It looks surprisingly good for a flash shot too ( I assume it's flash) The B&W conversion looks good too wiv nice whites & good blacks. Very good picy megirl, well done.
