There's plenty of on line Aussie slang dictionary's Penny but the young ones don't look at em. Maybe if I put Iso's Hot picy on the cover they will all want to look:-)

Do you have a word for "dictionary"? maybe you should start putting something together to preserve these little goodies - maybe you could add pictures too (what a novel idea!) Penny STreet

:-) You can still hear some good ole Aussie sayings at the pub & on building sites but the younger generation all seem to look like bleached out rappers wiv their hats on back to front & their pants half way down their bum. You Americans have a lot of explaining to do:-)
ctfchallenge01-Jun-2008 18:38
Rod, you are too funny! I hardly think "Have a nice day" is a substitute for "Bugger off"! Maybe you should start a movement to preserve your sayings and language from the encroachment of our sayings - the French have! LOL! :-D CJ

so it's just you...now.
Sorry (but keep it up cause we enjoy it)

Before we went global Aussies had some terrific sayings, sadly disappearing the more we watch American TV shows. We now hear Hi instead of Gday & have a nice day instead of bugger off:-) I think half of the dimwits over here thinks GW is their President.

she's a "good ole stick" ? Australia must be a fun place. or is it just you that's so fun?

Thanks mate:-) The missus is getting a big head from all this attention:-)

Thanks for sharing Rod, and wonderful pic of you lovely wife! - angioman

Thanks Carole:-) Yes she's a good ole stick & we have some fun wiv each other. For the first 30 plus years of being married she mainly just laughed at me joking around but for some reason she can now be very funny & often has me laughing when she gives me some great come backs:-) I do dread that look of when she points to the kitchen though:-)

What a great portrait of Mereana Rod! She looks like a fun-loving lady (she has to be to put up with you, eh!) and you and the lens did a wonderful job of capturing the moment. The lens blurred the background nicely and I like the lighting and PP too give a soft look, but not too soft. Mereana should be happy with this Rod, she looks lovely! :-) CJ

Thanks Tommy:-) Well it's a sort of introspective I spose as wots she is thinking is if I don't make her look ten tears younger she's working out wot days I will be cooking on:-)
ctfchallenge26-May-2008 22:03
I think I see a glint in her eye even with the subdued lighting. I like the almost classic portraiture technique and do I see a hint of a large face in the bg? All three of these shots share a sense of introspection although here the personality is lovingly more on display. -tv

Thanks Jano:-) Now get back to bed we don't want to catch your cold:-) Hope you're feeling a bit better.

This has a wonderful serene, candid appearance Rod. So far I think all your b&w portraits are wonderful and can be nicely viewed on the family wall. I think candids are sometimes the best as they show the person in everyday life. Lovely lady, lovely portrait. jano

Thanks Troy:-) I didn't do any sharpening on this one, I didn't want cooking duties all week:-)
Guest 25-May-2008 11:58
I like it Rod. My loved one hates the pictures I take of her and complains about it but I love the beautiful face. PS takes all the character out and makes it unnatural. Good shot.
Rod 24-May-2008 21:48
Thanks Debi, Penny, Aamm & Doug:-) Unlike Dolly Parton me missus isn't wearing any make up so I told her if she wants to stop me running off wiv a Dolly Parton look alike she should get dolled up. I gave her $10 to go & buy a full kit of make up. Well it's only fair as she has the benefits of looking at me, I keep getting mistaken for Cary Grant:-)

You better hope she doesn't read that wrinkle comment Rod or you'll be cooking for the rest of this challenge. I find it to be a flattering portrait. -COAmature

As lovely as ever.

She IS luvely, indeed. How lucky you are.
And the wrinkles are smiling.... how did you do that?
