Thanks Guys for the discussion. BTW this was taken with a new Canon 430EX that I just bought. Camera mode set to AV. I'm amazed with the results it can produce.

I think it's just me getting mixed up Cat, I don't know why but I assumed from the way Troy described his cheapo Eyetec flash thingy coming with different lenses & he's never used it before that it wasn't a normal flash unit. I somehow assumed it was just to aid in available light picys. Why I thought that I'm buggered if I know:-) So you are correct in what you say Cats, I must be in me Martha stage at the mo:-)

Rod, I am not sure I see your point here. May be you are thinking this to be an available light shot. Changing the ISO down to 100 or 200 from 800 will not force Troy to open up the F stops. The flash will compensate for it automatically, as I am sure this one is taken with auto flash or ETTL. Troy can still stick to F11 without doing any other changes (I think)

I like the black and white and the reflection is great (not to meantion her look...)

The high Iso may have worked well for you here Troy. A lower Iso would have meant opening up the F stops & getting less DOF, somehow I think the large DOF is working well with this picy. You got great white & blacks in this well done mate.

Thanks Cat. I forgot to change the ISO setting before putting on the flash attachment. I do that a lot! I will try to pay more attention to that.

And forgot to reflect on the creative title!
I wonder why did you use iso800....? 100 should have been enough, may be 200.
