I think this is a much stronger image, Julie. You've got the bright yellow of the boat, those wonderful reflections, and the leading lines of the three cables. Everything else (in my opinion, at least) is extraneous. I tend to crop tight, so I'd even be tempted to crop down to just above the middle cable in order to get rid of the water draining from the boat, which I find distracting. Of course, then you lose one of the cables, and there's something to be said for groups of three. Ultimately your call, of course.

Thanks Gerald Mary Anne and Lydia. Thanks too ladies for your advice. Do you like this better? I have moved my other image to Pending if you would like to compare. Julie
This is really beautiful, too! I'd like a bit of the top off, too... but if this is your vision, and you feel strongly about it... it's really already good. ~Lydi
In my opinion, the reflection in the water is what makes this shot special. I'd try cropping off as much of the top of the image as possible (at least enough to get rid of the distracting railings and baskets), simplifying it down to shapes of the pure yellows and blues.

Fantastic. Nothing is destracting from yellow and blue. I like the reflection.
Only one thing to criticize: you forgot to indicate your name, dear anonymous. -Gerald
