Cat oh cat, I have so many pics of yours that I try to emulate. The list keeps growing.

Very well done, my friend.

Cat, aahhaa the "focus location" is the key. You set your focus for the refraction of water in the front glass...which explains everything. nice! -Abstract

Thanks Abs!
There is not much processing done to this at all, let alone blurring the edge. There is no blurring done anywhere in PP. I have chosen the level of the water as the level of my optical vertical center for the shot, notice I kept the same level of water for both glasses. Also the focus is only on the front glass, the second glass is about 6" behind (notice the bases). So what you are seeing as blurred edge for the second is actually correct technically. Now for the blurring of the first glass: I think since my optical vertical center is the water level, the edge of the first glass being just above it, its allowing the far-side rim of the first glass to be marginally visible below the nearside rim, thus creating the blurring effect. Plus the run is not a sharp edge like the water level so that might be another reason for the blurry effect. Hope I was able to explain what is going on here.

very nice lighting job you have done here Cat.
I can understand (may not entirely agree though) your shallow dof (gradual loss of sharpness as you said) preference but you have blurred (i am sure accidentally) the rims (top corners) of both glasses during processing. side edges and water surface are in focus, so technically the top rims have to be in focus. otherwise i like this shot a lot. -Abstract

Thank you Rod, Brent, Debbi, Lydia, tv, COAmature, Gerald, Claire, Penny, CJ!!!!
I am glad you all liked it! I read: need more "blue" comments and then I read sufficient blue too. So I am keeping this as it is as its OK'ed by our host ;-)

I took a shot of the whole thing in sharp focus too, but I some how like the gradual loss of sharpness as we move away from the camera.

Clarie, congratulations on the upcoming wedding! yeah, missed your shots too, as I missed few previous challenges alltogether... Looking forward to when you are back again!

And I don't even want to ask tv what he meant by "Freudian" interpretation ;-)

missed your shots when I had time to enter - good to see that they still catch my eye though. Decided I only had time to comment on a few- and this was the first to grab me. Very classy!! - claire

Nicely set up, Cat, and the amount of blue is sufficient as there is no third color. Very well done. -Gerald

Nicely done Cat. I see plenty of blue in that bottle. -COAmature

Hehe.. seems very warm and phallic. But that's just my 60's college influence when critical interpretation was all Freudian. -tv

Very nice shot Cat with a great setup, but a little more blue might help with the topic in mind? Maybe try one of those blue LED lights behind the bottle?

Gerald wanted the emphasis on the yellow AND the blue so you're half way there Cats. Well done mate:-)
