Thanks Mary Anne:-) There's always a momentary satisfaction with picys like this as they always seem to look clear & sort of professional looking but if you think about it, about 80% of professionals are producing very well shot nothing picys just to fill a commercial requirement. None of their picys will be remembered in the history of the art. The photo journalists seem to be doing OK though.

Nicely executed, Rod. And those blue laces...they almost hurt my eyes!! Like you, I prefer going out and finding things to shoot, but set-up shots can also be satisfying...I think.

Thanks all:-) I will get out for some more manly looking picys soon. As soon as the topic was announced everyone heard me cry out wiv pain as I had me new gear & nothing to shoot wiv the silly topic. So every one has been finding yellow & blue for me to shoot:-) Laura came up wiv the shoes & had the laces in a drawer & I just threaded them through so no one except Carole would notice:-) The lighting is just the fluro in the kitchen ceiling & the shoes are just sitting on a black cloth. The shots were looking very static so I picked up the shoes & let them drop onto the cloth & liked the way they looked & just tidied up the laces. I think set up picys are easier to impress people than proper picys so I wouldn't consider this as progressing me photography skills.

Rod, if Lydia is the queen of the set-up shots, you are at least the "princess"!!! :-D I see you even bought a bright blue shoelace to weave into the other laces - Great lighting and composition! Want to share your lighting source and set-up? :-) CJ

What a lovely "sissy" studio shot, Rod! *grin* Perfectly on topic, too. ~Lydia

Tell him that, Doug. I think our friend is progressing his photo skills nicely.

I didn't think I would ever see you post so many studio shots. You are quite good at it so I'm surprised you don't do it more. -COAmature

Interesting sense of instability as the shoes seem to be levitating. Only the feeble tether to the right edge keeps them from floating off. -tv
