Not only does it feel like just part of the image, but the subject teases with it being part of a history story. Illustration for the Icelandic Sagas?

Nicely done, I like the warm glow. The leading lines take you up the mast, it makes you want to see more. Which is how this topic will pan out, its going to be interesting! :)
