Fall In Line

My go at an oldy but a goody: http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/image/3070126

If this challenge has taught me anything it is this: When I see the winning photo and wonder why didn't I think of that -- well the truth is just thinking of an idea is not enough. The beauty is in the execution. I think I came up a bit short on this one.

Canon PowerShot G6
1/6s f/3.2 at 8.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Neo - I would definitly bring the focus forward. Does the G9 have continuous shooting? If so, and you had a helper to start the dominos to fall, you might have a few shots at different areas of the fall that you might like. jano

Thanks. The focus was the hard part (well after the timing). I focused too far back and the sharp focus was lost in the movement of the dominoes. If I can bring myself to reshoot I will bring the center of focus forward.

I'm guessing Neo didn't use a tripod, looks like a little motion blur to me. The exposure is good though, especially with white/bright subjects.

Was it your intention to not have any of the domino's in focus Neo? The exposure looks good mate.

I'm with Claire, the finger and the falling last piece add sense of movement here. Good job, Neo.

Claire, this took more attempts than I care to admit to, and I am still not happy with it. When I restore my patience I might try a re-shoot.

I'm imagining huge amounts of patience must be needed for this shot - and you could probably happily never see a domino again. Wel done for persevering - I especially like the fingers in shot giving a sense of action..claire
