Hi Cat,

this is in New Zealand. It is a lake on the road to Queenstown with a famous (for NZ) land mark called the Chruch of the Good Sheppard. We completely underestimated the travelling time and ended up staying in this little house on the edge of the lake. Seehttp://www.pbase.com/gsb/image/54229562

Fantastic place. The lake and some spectacular dams/rivers are at least highly influenced by man, if not made.

I'm guessing but this looks like the result of re-working worked out alluvial mines or something like that. Love the colours! -mcbit

Beautiful and very unusual colors here! GsB! I am not sure where this is, but have seen nothing like this. Appears to be a lake of some kind, but the color looks totally out of the world. I wonder what is generating the CuSO4 color of the water. -Cat
