TBH it was the first time I had seen one as well!! I also was suprised by the name!

New Zealand - wow. And I don't think I've ever seen a silk tree. Do they bloom all year long? Anyway, this is a very nice photo rendition and welcome to the challenge.

Im new here, and am enjoying viewing all the wonderful pics people take here.
This is commonly known as the "silk tree" here in New Zealand. This was taken at a local zoo here.

Silk? Good details and colors although the lack of pp robs it of possible impact. I think this could look good even in B&W with dodged in highlights and burned in shadows. -tv
