I like the "bend the rule" lil bit rather shatter it effect here. Neither centered nor 1/3, just enough tension :)
Works for me. Nice saturated red.

Terrific red against the black design. Composition is exquisite, toying with the rules to good effect. The red ball wants to move but is held in place by the matrix of little twigs. -tv
