You should have put Living Room, Black Forest, CO to get some extra laughs. I like the purple-ish color on the shovel which makes it more surreal. John

Very well concieved and taken. I like it the way you have presented it. Low light and Low key indeed! I love these kinds of shots.

Sharon, yes and thanks for that, it was fun to shoot it, as well. I enjoyed meeting you and your wonderful family. What a happy bunch! You and they are always welcome; please come back the next time you're in CO.
CJ, thanks. I took ~15 shots to get this subdued yet understandable image. I had to cut way back on the cam's recommended settings to get what I wanted.
Tommy, I do too, but remember, this is "No PP". That one is highly processed. I like the one below, even better, but its processed also:

Mikey, I think the "Dark Side" version in dslr_challenge is better. This one really strains the medium. -tv

Mining, even in your living room - how appropriate for CO! Cool shot Mikey - I like how the light barely lights you but highlights the shovel! :-) CJ

What a fun shot, Mikey! I see you have taken my advice and included your house in the challenges but somehow I didn't think you would start digging it up! Having just been in your living room I know that this is possible without too much damage though. I did so enjoy meeting you in person, seeing your remarkable house and meeting your llama friends. You were so kind to let my whole family come for a visit, they were all very impressed. Say hi to Marlice! ~Sharon

Thanks for the comments, guys. Kelly - This pic was taken in my living room. Go figure. Just goes to show you what some people will do for a Challenge. ":^D) Cheers, -mikey

Just enough to see that it's a "headlight." I was curious as to why the light source was even in the picture until I figured that out. Might just have a contender here Mikey. -COAmature

Interesting shot Mikey - from the thumbnail I wasn't so sure... but the thing that has me wondering most is where are you? We've got three feet of snow and temps have been in the single digits... although your shoveled ground does look kind of frozen - are you in a basement? - Kelly

Good idea & it looks quite smooth for a high Iso. Well done mate.

Very nice Mikey. Just the right amount of light & the blue on the shovel is interesting.
