This will look great when you're allowed to put in a corrected sky! ~ Lonnit

I've re-calibrated my monitor and I see what you mean now. -mcbit

Thanks Cat, Brent & CJ a reshoot of this, for the moment, is out of the question though as the whole place is covered in snow! So for sure Cat is not going to get the flip-flops :)

Tom, I haven't lived in the UK since 1991; I spent 9 years in Dubai and now 8 years in Azerbaijan. I'm married to a lady from the Russian autonomous republic of Dagestan who is now an Azeri citizen. I speak Russian but not Azeri (similar to Turkish) and I don't actually work here very often as most of my business is in the States and Mexico.

The reaction of most people who have never been to Baku is "Isn't it a bit 'Wild West' over there?". In truth the answer is no, it's a relaxed cosmopolitan city on the 'up and up'; but there's no harm in embracing the myth, eh. ;)

Thanks again for the comments and interest. -mcbit

Love the angle, the lines and the old pavement. I finally have to ask what is a McBride doing in an old Soviet republic? Must be an exciting experience. -tv

I really like the brick street and sidewalks Gerry and if you could reshoot, maybe a little darker as the sky looks too bright on my monitor too - not blown, just too light. Great leading line shot though! :-) CJ

Nice lines and comp to this one Gerry. I think I may be with Rod looking at it on my monitor- wish it were a little less exposed. Reshoot possibility? Still a great image :-)

Great angle and street view! The ventilators on the all across is a good clue of the incline of the street. I find myself looking for something in the foreground to anchor my attention. Like a pair of brightly colored flip-flops... or something.

Rod, Jano, Kelly and Debi thanks for commenting.

Rod, looks fairly dark on my monitor; I could squeeze a bit more if I could PP,,,

Kelly your observations are fairly accurate; the balcony though is at about 8' where I am going down to about 5'6" at the other end. Gawd; don't you land surveyors use metres?

I've got a line running straight up me thirds too ;) -mcbit

I have been trying low angled shots lately and this looks real good - Debi

I'm a bit unclear as to the scale of things here. I get the sense that we're looking up a moderate incline with a POV less than normal eye level and the thing that has me guessing is the headroom beneath the structure extending over the sidewalk on the right side of this image - is it less than six feet? - Kelly

I like the perspective giving the bricks an angle to the end... good eye! jano

I would like to see this a lot darker for some mood.
