Snow Storm and 88's

Monument, CO

Rules Broken: Blurring and fuzziness around subject, details in highlights and shadows are obscured, colors are muted (not saturated), focus appears blurred (not sharp).
Reason: The subject/scene itself, unavoidably breaks rules. IOW, the choice to make the shot under the available conditions, broke the rules. It works because this is a true view of the conditions at the time the shot was taken.

Glad your back.

Haha, well I knew it worked. Thanks for telling me why. Yea, those snow storm shots can be surreal and graphical. ":^D -mikey

Naw, it works because it turns the whole thing surreal, graphical... giving us a feel for the moment, as opposed to an accurate representation. It's artistic and the colors and texture are lovely. :) ~ Qualified. ~ Lonnit

Tom's a real trouble maker:-)

UGH! Oh, Mikey!!! Very nicely done. I'm wanting to believe there are large areas of empty space, and I am trying to convince myself that large is a subjective term, but Tom opened his mouth and I could no longer deny the truth - there simply aren't large areas of empty space - the space is well used. Now please, go change your rule to overexposure or color fidelity and tell us why this is the real reason the image works - 'cuz it does!! Then please bring it on back! :) ~ Lonnit

The colors give the tower a mosaic effect & the wrap around trees of nearly B&W anchor the whole picture. Not really any "large empty space", rather a good use of space I'd say. I like it; but on topic, hmmm, might be too good.

I like the surreal colors Mikey. John

The faded colours in the framework look really good & quite surreal. The curve of the tree branches fits right in with the circles. Excellent picy Mikey...............Are you confident? "She" will be here soon:-)

Looks like a Christmas decoration in spite of your description. Anyway it certainly has that holiday feel in spite of the bleached out brightness. And I love effect of the tree limbs in the bg. They tickle my eyeballs. Really neat, wintery and original, Mikey. -tv
