Rule: don't shoot into the sun. Justification: to get a shot of the sun... Nice strong shadows and amplified contrast works well in a monochromatic environment.
Thanks Rod. It has been gray and cold for several days until this morning. So the sun was nice but the rest was still unseasonably gray in spite of the impending Yuletide. Thks John. No nd required although it would seem so. I basically followed the old f/16 rule but don't tell Lonnit. -tv

You've made a nice Christmassy scene look quite bleak, the snow even looks icey. The shot has a real mood to it. I want to be made happy at Xmas but I can't escape the real world for too long a.

Another nice image. For this B&W ( I'm usually no a fan of B&W), I can definitely see what you are saying. In color this highly underexposed snowy sidewalk would just look bad. You must have had a lot of Neutral Density on to take this shot. John
