Glad you like it, Techo: thanks for your kind words! -- db.

The curves of this fine structure is wonderful. Seeing many shots of these kinds of structures this is an excellent take and view for the challenge. Good going!

Yes, the building *is* absolutely fascinating, Lydia; maybe Gehry's most intriguing one. There are some windows (you can see the biggest one--of the entrance hall--in this image, just behind your "lady"), but this is a museum, so you do not want to have a mix of natural and artificial light where the art-works are shown). And, yes, the skin of the building is made of titanium-panels. Thanks for coming back to my picture! -- db.

What a weird building... fascinating, in fact! Are there no windows at all?
Is that thin metal sheeting on the outside?
Weird. It's only the one photo that's a woman. ;)
Thanks, Daniel! ~Lydia

BTW, Lydia: I posted a small gallery <http://www.pbase.com/bollag/bilbao for *your* eyes only, just in case you wanted to check on the "femineity" of the building ;-) -- db.

Thank you, John! And, yes, I got your message :-)) -- db.

I'm amazed that 'they' can't see it, too, John. *grin* It just jumps out at me -- WOMAN! The head is difficult.. but the curves and two pointy breasts... How can anyone not be embarrassed to work in this building. Ha! ~lydia

Lydia, it is no surprise that I might see this comparison. I am a little surprised that you see it too. Oh yeah. Nice shot DB, I especially like that you only included what is on topic. John

I'm afraid, tv, you are repeating yourself once more. Even *this* remark of yours about "some famous artists" is an old acquaintance of mine. But, please, let me read your advice--once is enough--and then decide on my own whether I accept it or disagree. Be assured my sig will (wherever possible) always be placed in an image-corner with a uniform background; that's the criterion. Sorry it bothers you *that* much; I really am! But if you simply can't stand that: just don't vote for my photographs! That should be protest enough. There is no need to write the same comment again and again: *I've heard you*. Please do believe me, tv: *I _have_ heard you!* -- db.

My eyes go right to the sideways sig in the sky. Daniel, you have such a sensitive eye that I'm perpetually surprised at the sig placement. Check out some famous artists and see how they intrgrate their signatures. -tv

Many thanks to all three of you for your friendly comments! I admire your ability to analyze an image, k2; and you, lydia, sure do have some imagination... ;-) -- db.

Rod, try the thumbnail. *grin* ~Lydia

I've bin sitting here for two hours trying to see breasts, I think I found one:-)
ctfchallenge09-Nov-2007 15:25
Looks like a curvy woman with two breasts up top and then the head. Cool shot. ~lydia

Elegant architecture, and the picture does it credit. You found the angle and proportions for a perfect capture. The shape the building draws against the sky here is marvellous. Just the right amount of sky too. Perfect mix of light and dark areas, large and small planes.
