It looks like you purposfully blew the highlights to give a surreal look to the image. To me, the only part of the image where this worked well was on the mask. Because of the lost details, it took me a really long time to make sense of some of the objects in the picture. I think I'd tone down the brightness a little, especially on the seashell. -J.V.
B&W can work against the sense of clutter because it removes important distinguishing element of color. I suppose these are some native people's implements and costumes, but the chief's headdress seems much more cluttered in all its blazing hues. -tv
