Reading the first part Rod I knew you are having a beer (or a dozen). Being a Friday confirmed it :) Have fun, mate.

This to me evokes a sense of arcs, not the Joan type arcs but parts of a segmented circle as in Pythagorarse arcs. So the implementation of the arcs to juxtapose within their differing tonal ranges is to me a work to be looked at very closely, wiv sunglasses on of course......hic...Looks fine now after two beers:-)

The whites look ok on my monitor, and the extremes from the bright whites to deep blacks works for the topic because it battles the uniformity of the subject matter. "Uniformity" is generally a liability in this topic because that's not clutter. But this image provides a tension between the apparent uniformity and the messy arrangement and the aforementioned white-black contrasts. The result is a good take on the topic, given the requisite frame-filling details. What I'm hoping will be discovered by posters as well are other various and complex kinds of clutter of dissimilar objects that may be held together perhaps only by their abstract and visual relationships or, as in Armin's pieces, the situations that encapsulate the various objects. That alone would not be enough, but Armin's framing is tight and filled with details as well. -tv

hey Rod & aam - thanks for looking! my take is that the group of white shoes naturally draws your eye first, but then you notice all the others. kinda evokes a sense of uniformity among the diversity. order among the chaos. :-) or something. yeah, that's it. that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
anyhow, may be all moot if this doesn't fit the challenge's definition of clutter...

I don't see any harm in that. It's a mess, but cool kind of a mess if you ask me.

The exposure does look right Aamm as a sunlit shot but the bright white shoes seem to take all me attention.

Is your monitor calibrated, Rod. Here the exposure looks spot on.

We will learn more when Tommy wakes up.
The white shoes look overly bright to me B.
