Well I thought I was the only one with problems getting the pic under 150 kb. I keep resizing but it always eludes me. Then I just upload to flickr which does the job for me. - Debi

Thanks Rod for the kind words and the welcome - my first challenge. I never knew how hard it was going to be to fit into a 150 KB 800x600 shot.

Dear Guest,
My last antenna was 20 years old, this one is quite new. The little ellipse in front part of the Yagi array is a new invention otherwise you are right, this is at least 30 years old. In fact those shingles are made of a new composite material so I guess their technology is much newer. When I named the shot I was thinking the newer technology of television meets the shingle but now that you mention it, it is the other way around. Thanks.

Walking around in my yard looking for another example of patterns, I looked toward our brick chimney and saw this. The shot didn't come out like I wanted though -- bright silvery glint with a black pattern underneath. Squinting in the bright Texas sun just made my eyes think that the antenna was shiny and the shingles were black. I'm sure CS2 could do this but I figure anything other than cropping is against the spirit of the challenge. I used the "safety" zoom of the SD800 by picking the 1600x1200 and getting a 7.3x high-res zoom. Come to think of it, I am glad the shingles are only charcoal colored.

Nicely shot John with the point of view making for a really good pattern shot. Very well done & welcome to the challenge mate.............................or if you've post before welcome back:-)

Is it still called "technology" if you've had it on your roof for 20 years?
