Gee, Jano, thanks for all the kind words and advice. I hope someday to live up to your fine work. Cheers, -mikey

New PC? Perhaps a call to the dealer and say "send me another?". This, i'm sad to say, does lack some sharpness and clarity, and perhaps it is a bit overexposed - or some cam shake going on. The upper left though looks like it is in focus. Sorry to hear of your PS problems Mikey! jano

One other note: Since it works for Freddie, Adobe now says its a system problem and I have to deal with Microsoft to solve the problem, hehe. The old "its not our problem" routine. Oh, well. Cheers, -mikey

Thanks, Tommy. This is a new PC and a new installation of PS CS3, so both ... but the thing is the new PC has 2Gb of RAM. Funny, I talked to Adobe Support for about an hour yesterday, no help. Same today and today's support guy suggested I create a new identity on my PC and run it from that identity to see if that helps ... too weird, it works. I guess PS just doesn't like Mikey. I named the new identity "False Freddie" and the PC likes Freddie. Can you beat that one? ":^D Cheers, -mystified mikey

Mikey, if this is a new installation of PS or a new PC, you might need a memory upgrade. Even my old version of PS is a memory hog, but I have 2 gigs DRAM installed and it's pretty stable. -tv

Lovely repeating pattern Mikey, and the bee keeps it interesting! CJ

When you get Photoshop up & running Mikey can you get the size of this down from 170K to 150K. Thanks mate.

Great for the topic.

Thanks for the feedback, Brent. I've been having a struggle with my Photoshop all weekend and for some reason I'm barely able to get anything done before it crashes and has to stop (while losing everything). I'll be calling Adobe in the AM to see if they can help me. I did manage to get some sharpening and contrast done, but I think too much sharpening. I posted it anyway, but I'll have another go at it when/if I can get the PS fixed. Yes, I do have two hives and we are harvesting the honey at this time of year. This is a comb that has been harvested. After we've spun out the honey in the centrifuge, we put the combs outside for the bees to clean up to be used again next year and this is one of the "clean-up" crew.

Doug, bees are very docile creatures, especially when they have honey to eat, so not to worry about closeness, unless you're all fuzzy and brown like a bear (why beekeepers wear white). They were flying all around me, but couldn't care less if I was standing there, cuz they had more important things to do. Also, I'm using an extension tube here and the lens was about 3' away.

Thanks for commenting guys. Cheers, -mikey

Good choice using up most of your zoom and keeping distance away from your subject. Looks like this guy likely has neighbors. -COAmature

Lots of pattern here Mikey- I like it. It somehow lacks a little punch to me and I'm not sure just how, but I'm wondering if sharpening and maybe a curve adjustment could make it pop just a little more? Do you raise bees on your property?
