This is well cropped and composed. (In camera or pp?) To my traditional eye, the contrast is too much, but in this case it seems to blend the child and wall in a comprehensible way. Q: Would it have done the same without the contrast? I'm particularly interested in this because many recent movies have used the same technique, and I don't understand it. "Traffic" for instance. OK, maybe it adds a documentary effect, but others have not used it so well. As to the title, I do find earthiness in the pose, but it is more of an elemental identification with and comfort drawn from the earth that the child is leaning on. the tilt makes the "leaning" even more of a restful, reliant pose. -tv
