Yes the longer the exposure the more any light will intensify in a shot. I chose F16 as I wanted the dark lines of the blinds to show up to help give a boring shot like this a bit of interest:-)

The flame came out really brightly, was that because of the long exposure?
I was wondering if you had used a wider aperture, you would get a narrower DOF and put the background more out of focus, but would this diminish the brightness of the flame?
Meriana does nice work. I'm drawn in by her richly painted colors that compete with the detailed reflections in the glass..so you were correct to include it in the foreground where it stands proudly. Oh by the way, your flame is well done too. -tv

Gawd the Missus insists I tell you all that she painted the glass stem. I told her to bugger off as I want no distractions from me work of ahrt as I know you lot will rave on about how clever Mereana is & forget about me bleeding picy:-)
