Rod, another nice picture, not sure which one I like better as its hard to choose between them.

I assumed that you intended the effect which to me is that erosion is taking over and will doom the trees. The doomed feeling is conveyed by their compression within the frame above the "unbalanced" amount of earth that visually seems to be pushing upward. -tv

OK,OK this is better balance, how I forgot the golden ratio I don't know:-) You're the first girl I know to forget the battery charger, you must be in love:-)

I guess you think I should put her on fire as well :P But I'm sorry - No can do. I'm 400 miles away. She's already proved to be a "crowd pleaser" though. I should challenge myself with things I'm not so good at.. Which I would have this very week, had I not forgotten to bring the battery charger :/

Looking at this again... It really is better balanced, I insist lol. Lovely maths here. An excellent adaption of the golden ratio.

I just had a thought Kiki, how about burying Ida up to her neck in dirt! It will make for a great earth shot:-)
Rod 07-Sep-2007 05:26
Thanks Kiki, Y, Cat & Doug:-) I think the other shot is a bit better balanced than this one but then again balance can be boring a:-) These are Eucalyptus trees (we call them gum trees) I think the white trunk ones are called Ghost Gums.

I like it for the exposed roots. -COAmature

Rod, Again, this one caught my eye. I like inner view of life beneath the dirt. Yvonne

Yes, they are similar and both nice. But this is easily my fav. More distinct composition, stronger lines. And the dotty clusters of leafs are .. uplifting :) Like splashes on a canvas, playful stuff.

I like the sandstone/clay/earth textures you captured. What trees are these?
