This photo is almost impossible to fit within 150K and maintain resonable quality.
The details and smoothness of colors is greatly impacted due to compression.

No I wasn't suggesting a re shoot as this shot looks fine But with such great photography opportunities at a place like this I was wondering why we haven't seen any shots from here before from you & Lee. 3hrs isn't just up the road so it would mean a full day out.

Thank Rod!! If you are suggesting reshoot, it may not happen within the remaining time of the challenge period. I might do that later sometime. Its about 3 hours drive from my place. Also I will surely need a wider lens to capture this, cause I don't want to loose the foreground and I would like a little more sky too at the same time. I have other shots from the same angle, but this one looks more complete due to the sky I guess, so I posted this one.

I think you might be right Cat, I cropped it on my screen again & had a closer look at the pic & it's as you said. How far is this place from Atlanta?

Thanks Tom, CoAmature, Rod and Maurice!!
Maurice, I have seen you capture your surroundings. You live in a wonderful place!
Rod, I gave a try per your suggestion. Didn't mind loosing the sky, but then the primary line of reference for the horizon is becoming the plateau sloping downwards toward right. No problem with the slope as much, but its too close to the upper edge of the photo and is making the image look crooked and ill composed and needing rotation toward left, which will change the verticals. Not sure if I am explaining it properly. Please let me know what are your thoughts.

Nice capture, I'm envious that you have this on your doorstep. I live on the edge of the Fens, which are about as flat as you can get. :)

Nicely done Cat, although I do prefer it without the small section of sky. It's a bugger when there's lots of detail in the picy, I normally post at 700 on the long side but all me entries above had to go down to 600 on the long side & about quality 5 Jpeg to get under 150 so we're all in the same boat mate.

My favorite of your submissions. This one makes the earth look powerful and that is what I believe the challenge to be. -COAmature

Thanks for looking and commenting Mary Anne! This is Providence Canyons, also known as "Little Grand Canyons" in GA. My other two entries in eligible are from the same location too.
