I wish I had taken more care in noticing my surroundings, but I was rather obsessed with this doorway... Above and set back is a obelisk/monument with gold goddess statue at the top, but unfortunately none of those pictures came out well. I will post a picture of the fountains in front, but it was quite an odd place.
-- The doorway itself would lead to somewhere underground if it were still functional... Perhaps it used to lead somewhere, but well behind is the continuance of a multi-lane road heading into Munich, and this is the center of a roundabout type area.

Interesting, lovely & unique. I looks to be a rock-wall garden, with quite an elaborate setting?
I like how the doorway frames the earth! Does the doorway lead to anywhere or is it blocked off by the earth and rocks?

Thanks for the kind words Rod! I was surprised when I found this place in the middle of Munich. I just wonder what this place used to be. There is a fountain in front of this archway, with steps going up on either side, but under the archway... Who knows : )
