Thanks aam, for the advice, but I'm sure my S3 is restricted to 1 point and it seems to struggle to focus, perhaps its not fast enough!

I like the soaring gull and the backlighting on the wings and tail. Reminds me of "Jonathan Livingston Seagull"! CJ

Yes, they are tough to capture indeed! I only ever use a single focus point, which makes it quite difficult. It probably would be easier in multi-point mode. For me it's a matter of persistence. ~ Lonnit

Lonnit, thats really nice, it captures the air and wind, with a soaring bird. I wish I had better results with flying birds my camera never focuses on the bird :(
