Hi Tom, Just weeds they'll not get much bigger. I think they may be "Horsetail" Equisetum telmateia, which are some of the oldest species of plant on the planet.

Are those weeds or trees of tomorrow?
Thank you COAmature. With us not getting much sun this "Summer" I liked the way the sun was catching the green. This may end up in pending yet!
