Lovely little blossoms Cat, and they stand out nicely against the magenta bracts (?) of the plant. I like the lighting and the shallow DOF here too. CJ

I like it. I'm jealous my macros don't come out nearly this good. The purple leaves and yellow pollen are color enough for me. It qualifies for the challenge; ultimately the voters can choose if it is vivid.

Thanks Brent, Julie and COAmature! I am so gald that you liked it. Most of the area in this shot is out of DOF, except for a small portion. Also I did not push the color much on this one as it would have affected the subtle yellow of the pollen and I would have lost the textures in the magenta too. I am wondering if this would be considered "vivid" enough for this challenge or not, as most of the shots here are super saturated. But I liked the shot so much that I wanted to post it any way. We'll see what the host has to say... I am OK if this one qualifies for pending. -Cat
