I may just do that Mary Anne :-)

Brent, you can always submit pics of the new puppies. :-)

Thanks for your continued comments all :-) Hmmm, it is a hard one deciding how much interest a negative space can have and still be a negative space. I may try a reshoot of this sometime just to see if I can improve it. But with not one, but two new puppies in the house now I don't have a lot of free time ;-)

Good shot Brent! I'm not sure if the background clouds would be considered "negative space" as they might be competing for attention, but they definitely enhance the image! This presents a dilemma, but a nice one to ponder! ;-) CJ

This is really a beautiful shot Brent! I think if you took the exact same shot at night (with the same composition) it would probably be an even better use of negative space to compliment the subject. Really stunning as is though!

Great color here, Brent. I have to agree that the sky and clouds are so luscious that they really don't seem to be negative space. I can certainly see why you were drawn to take this shot.

This is a very nice shot Brent but I agree with Tommy. The clouds look so good they almost become the subject which confuses me even more. Must there be a clear subject to have clear negative space? -COAmature

Thanks Aam, Tom, and Jano :-) I'm happy with this image, but was even happier with the beautiful evening we were having when I took this. I got the idea for this shot while sitting outside a French cafe' sipping Lilet on ice with a twist. Sounds like a girly drink I guess- but quite refreshing!
That brownish cast you see in the left isn't caused by burning in Photoshop Tom, but rather the burning of fossil fuels :-( Still; the viewer won't necessarily know that and I will see if I can clear the air a little when I have some time.

Great use of space. Well done. jano

Nice shot except for some burned out clouds esp lower left. Pushes the concept of "negative space", I think. By making the sign so small and cleverly integrated with the clouds, they become part of the subject and the sky becomes "negative space". Interesting. -tv
