Thanks for all the comments. I went on holidays to Alooftown so couldn't reply. I was stuffed and maybe a bit tired and emotional when this was taken so i was pleased that it came out as it did. Yes, i wish i was looking at the camera directly and a couple of minor changes might be in order but i always bugger it up if i try to reshoot.

Gosh - that G6 keeps going and going and going... this is an awesome moody image... full of detail. My only wish is that the eye was looking straight ahead. jano

Paul is staying aloof to build up the mystique of a great artiiiiiiiiist.

Very nice. Wonderful mystery in the darkened side of the face. -- Bruce

Good one Paul! I like the angle of your head and the side lighting. It might look good with a crop of a couple of inches off the top and right side too but good as is also. CJ

Very nice Paul! Great lighting! Fits the topic perfectly well IMO!

You pulled out a lot of detail with such little light. Great entry. -COAmature

Thats very effective! has a great mood to the picture!
It really grabs your attention, as you try and pick out more information from the darkness! :)

I like the moody B&W and detail, but the "negative space" has become part of the subject as it swallows up your head. -tv

I really like the black subject, I am only a bit distracted by the negative space showing a kind of face ;o)

Cool shot, Paul.

Despite what Emma (and Rod!) may say, it's a very good shot. The catchlights in the eye and the highlights in the beard keep it from seeming flat and underexposed. Well done, Paul.

Emma always said the boofhead had negative space between his ears & she has captured it brilliantly here, you can't get any more boofhead looking than this. You can tell Emma took this shot because it's a really good shot & Paul can't take good shots.
