I like this a lot and I also liked it with the tree tops as they gave a sense of how tall these guys really are but either way it's a terrific shot Troy! CJ

Troy, this is such a good photo that you may want to see what others think about the trees. Of course this is your photo so you can do whatever you please with it. But If I were you I'd put the original pic somewhere and see what people think about the two.

It was not photoshoped other than the cloning of a couple very small tree tops at bottom.

Missed the tree, but I like this without it. Good on-topic "negative space" is well balanced with the subject, since balancing depends more in weight than area. -tv

Oh I'm not sure, I think the inclusion of the tree(s) add a lot to the photo. They give context and prove (in a way) that the background is real and not photoshoped. IMO of course.

nice use of negative space.
