Nice shot and gorgeous contrast between the subject reds and negative space greens really makes it work. -tv

Thanks CJ and Doug,

Although the green may look busy, I did try to give it the DOF and focus on the flower itself with the worm as extra .

Lovely flower shot Sue Anne! I could go either way on whether this is a "negative space" image or not depending on what definition is used but I think it would fit with Lee's broad description. The color contrast of the background does enhance the image although a bit busy to my eyes. Very pretty though! CJ

This is what I see as the challenge. I feel that the bloom is the subject and therefore all of the green is negative space. If this is the case then this is a great example of how negative space enhanced the subject. Works for me Sueanne. -COAmature

Thanks - to me the DOF green is the negative space putting the lilly as the focus point. IMHO

If I see detail I can't see it as negative space as painters do so I'm wiv Aamm on this one but it does fit the topic description so well done Sue Anne:-)

AAM1234,

the negative space would be all the green surrounding the flower.

Nice shot Sueanne.

Sorry Sueanne, but I'm not sure where the negative space is.

Thank you Jano
Thank you Philippe - I did another pass of USM and lessen the greens. In 'original' view, the lilly is sharp to me. :)

hello sueanne,
a little bit sharper will be fine! just a touch with photoshop and it's perfect , also reducing the green dominant.
nice shot , just saw the worm after reading jano's comment!!! ; )
