Thanks TV - i'll check the WB tonite on the orig, but I think it was "shade" as I was inbetween the shade and sun... I chose to have more of the area around the little bee included to emphasis the world around it... As far as the blokeh/background.... this is just crop of original and very little pp was done - certainly no blurring at all, dodging, burning, etc. Thanks for commenting. jano
More of the slightly warmish old Kodachrome look. Do you remember the white balance setting? Greater depth of field might distract from the emphasis on the fly.. I see this as an old-fashioned wide shot showing the protagonist in its setting. There are some spooky shadows in the background that create a metaphorical atmosphere of the threatened environment. Excellent - or does the 5D do all that by itself? -tv
Thanks Rod - This was my first attempt after I found the macro manual focusing option on my lens. I may need a macro lens to achieve a closer shot? practice, practice. Yes Lee, I'm totally in love with the cam. I just really need like a week to discover how to take better picys :) I so like the instruction manual so far lol jano

I think I would like to see some more DOF as we're not that close to the fly for it to carry the shot. Nice warm colours gives it a nice look, well done:-)
