I'm glad you like it, Techo. This plant is a native perennial here in the Northeast, and it attracts butterflies as well as hummingbirds. I've had them in my yard for years without seeing too many of the colorful winged critters, but the wildlife sanctuary where I volunteer has recently planted several of them in their butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Hope they have better luck.

Lovely :)
Really like how the lighting highlights the flower and the dark background contrasts the flower. Does this kind of flower attract butterflies?
Thank you for your kind comments, Tom, Maurice, and Carole. I've been trying to get a good shot of something besides a flower, but no luck so far. The topic is not as easy as it first seems...but I suppose that's why it's a challenge.

Nice rich colours and good light in this picture, what a wonderful flower!

This is really very nice Mary Anne with the deep dark background and flower echo on the left. Excellent exposure and arrangement and dramatic lighting make it special, and surprisingly delicate to my eye. -tv
